Shelton Duruisseau, Ph.D
Dr. Duruisseau was appointed to the Medical Board of California, Division of Medical Quality, by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2004. He is also a member of the California Health Professions Education Foundation Board of Trustees.
Duruisseau is the Associate Vice Chancellor of UC Davis Health System and serves as its Chief External Affairs Officer. He is responsible for the Office of Diversity, Inclusion, and Community Engagement. In this role, Duruisseau provides unified leadership in external affairs and diversity activities across all health system operations, including the schools of medicine and nursing, the medical center, and the physician practice group.
Duruisseau holds a Bachelor's Degree from Grambling State University, a Master's Degree from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, a Doctorate (PhD) from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, and has completed postgraduate certification programs in Health System Management at Harvard and Stanford Universities.
