Barbara Yaroslavsky
Barbara Yaroslavsky was appointed to the Division of Medical Quality
by Speaker of the State Assembly Herb J. Wesson, Jr. in 2003. She is involved in many community projects in Southern
California, primarily in the areas of healthcare and education. She is on the boards of many nonprofit agencies,
including the Los Angeles Free Clinic; LA's Best, which provides a quality program for over 10,000 students in
Los Angeles City-area elementary public schools; the Undergraduate Student Scholarship Committee at U.C. San Diego;
the Jewish Public Affairs Committee; and the Executive Board of the Jewish Community Relations Council.
Ms. Yaroslavsky heads up a special projects group for the Zimmer Children's Museum and participates in the Jewish Community's response to literacy through the Koreh Los Angeles Task Force, which puts over 1,000 volunteers to read with kids in area elementary schools. She also is a Board member of Executive Service Corps (ESC), a management consulting group that provides mentoring and staffing services by retired executives to nonprofit organizations.
