Sonoma Physician Surrenders License after Medical Board of California Accusation

(Sacramento, California) – A Sonoma physician accused of inappropriately prescribing controlled substances to four of his patients has surrendered his license to the Medical Board of California (Board).
The surrender of the license of Clinton Lane became effective on May 1, 2019, and comes after the filing of an accusation charging him with four counts of unprofessional conduct for repeated negligent acts, and/or excessive prescribing, and/or prescribing without an appropriate prior examination/medical indication.
“The surrender of Lane's license allows the Board to meet its mission of consumer protection,” said Kimberly Kirchmeyer, the Board's executive director.
The Board's accusation against Lane, which is accessible on the Board's website, outlines a pattern of repeated negligence involving the prescription of opioids to four of his patients.
